Abdominoplasty removes selected excess skin and may tighten separated abdominal muscles; it is not a weight-loss procedure or a substitute for fitness.

Tummy Tuck in Saudi Arabia: What the Procedure Can and Cannot Do

What abdominoplasty treats

A tummy tuck can remove lower abdominal skin and fat and may repair separated abdominal muscles. It is commonly considered after pregnancy or major weight change when loose skin does not respond to exercise.

Tummy tuck versus liposuction

Liposuction reduces localised fat but does not remove significant loose skin or repair muscle separation. Abdominoplasty treats those structural concerns but creates a longer scar. Some patients may have both, while others are better suited to one procedure.

Timing matters

Weight should be reasonably stable, and future pregnancy may change the result. Smoking and nicotine impair healing and must be discussed honestly. Health conditions, previous abdominal surgery and the risk of blood clots influence whether the procedure is appropriate.

Recovery in Riyadh or Jeddah

Patients usually need help at home during early recovery. Walking is encouraged as directed, while lifting and strenuous exercise are restricted. Compression garments or drains may be used depending on the plan. Travel between cities should be agreed with the treating team.

Individual assessment

Dr. Elsayed Abdelbaki — الدكتور السيد عبدالباقي evaluates skin, fat distribution, muscle separation, scars and general health before recommending a technique. Risks include bleeding, infection, fluid collection, delayed healing, altered sensation, scarring, asymmetry, clots and anaesthetic complications.
